School Lunches

Click here for information on Infant School meals in Hampshire

Our school kitchen is run through HC3S (Hampshire Caterers – for more information, visit their website www.hants.gov.uk/caterers ). They operate a 3 week menu, with a meat and vegetarian option each day. The menus can be viewed from the link below, and pupils select in the morning which of these options they would like to ensure that the correct number of portions are prepared. Pupils may choose to have a school lunch or bring their own packed lunch on a daily basis.

In 2012, the school’s Young Governors worked with HC3S to improve the school dinner experience for pupils, particularly our older children. This has resulted in HC3S providing a salad bar for all pupils which they can help themselves to.

Here is the current menu for school dinners running from April to October 2017.

Healthy Snacks

The government provides a piece of fruit for every child in reception classes and KS1. We do encourage all pupils to bring a named water bottle which they can access in the classroom.

"Hello I'm Emily your school cook here at Sarisbury Infants. I am working with the teaching staff to provide an enjoyable, pleasant and sociable daily lunch experience. My team and I cook good, fresh food daily on a three week cycle. We aim to provide one third of a child's daily intake and incorporate it into our menus. Our menu is nut free and we can accommodate for special diets with a separate menu. For those parents who don't know, we have been running a cooking club for year 2 in the afternoons for around 30 minutes teaching them basic cutting, mixing and weighing and creating. Each child will have turn so if your year 2 hasn't brought anything home yet they will. Next year this will continue to run with our current year 1 when they make the move to year 2. Any questions about the meals I'm happy to answer, I look forward to seeing your little ones at lunch!"
