English Information

At Sarisbury Infant School, we believe in providing our children with a language rich English Curriculum. As a school we aim to develop a love for reading and writers of the future.

Literacy is children’s gateway to learning and develops their ability to listen, speak, read and write for a range of purposes. We believe in providing children with the opportunity to become fluent critical readers of a variety of genres. During writing sessions children learn how to craft a variety of texts that enables them to express themselves.

Reading Challenge

At Sarisbury Infant School we have been completing our reading challenge. We have to read 50 books and then we get a book from Mrs Weavers that we get to keep forever. Everytime we read at home or in school we sign off a square. For every ten squares we get a sticker and when we hit 30 we get a Sarisbury Reading Bug. It is great fun completing the reading challenge!
